What it doesn't have is much professional recording infrastructure to match.

Why do artists from The Woodlands record at Lunar Mansion instead of locally?
The Woodlands has a handful of project studios, but very few rooms with a Grammy-nominated engineer and outboard gear used on platinum records. Artists who've outgrown hobbyist setups — especially singer-songwriters and acts coming out of The Woodlands' strong school music programs — make the drive for engineering that matches their ambitions.
Do you work with young artists and parents from The Woodlands?
Yes — a meaningful share of our Woodlands clients are teenage artists and college students working on their first serious recordings, often with a parent involved in booking. Parents are welcome at sessions, and we're happy to walk through the process, timeline, and costs up front so everyone knows what to expect.
Do I need to write my lyrics before coming to the studio?
It helps to have a direction in mind, but we work with artists at all stages. Some come in with everything locked in, others write and develop in the room. Either way, we'll make the session work for you.
Can I bring my own beats or instrumentals to record over?
Absolutely. You can bring MP3s, WAVs, or any audio file. We'll load it into Pro Tools and sync your vocal timing to it. If your beat is in a different key or tempo than you want to sing in, our engineer can adjust it.
What should I bring to my recording session?
Bring reference tracks that represent the sound you're going for, any backing tracks or beats (on USB or email), water, and snacks. A small, focused group in the room leads to better work. We provide the microphone, preamp, and all technical gear.
