Yes — Katy is our home base. Unlike studios that just list Katy as a service area, Lunar Mansion is physically here in the Katy area of West Houston, minutes from I-10 and the Grand Parkway. For Katy artists that means no cross-town drive, easy weeknight sessions, and quick return visits for overdubs or mix revisions.
Do many Katy artists really record at a professional level?
More than most people expect. Between Katy ISD's nationally recognized music programs, the church worship scene, and a growing wave of independent rappers and singers on the west side, Katy produces serious talent. Our client list is proof — and because we're local, many of them treat Lunar Mansion as their long-term home studio across multiple projects.
Do I need to write my lyrics before coming to the studio?
It helps to have a direction in mind, but we work with artists at all stages. Some come in with everything locked in, others write and develop in the room. Either way, we'll make the session work for you.
Can I bring my own beats or instrumentals to record over?
Absolutely. You can bring MP3s, WAVs, or any audio file. We'll load it into Pro Tools and sync your vocal timing to it. If your beat is in a different key or tempo than you want to sing in, our engineer can adjust it.
What should I bring to my recording session?
Bring reference tracks that represent the sound you're going for, any backing tracks or beats (on USB or email), water, and snacks. A small, focused group in the room leads to better work. We provide the microphone, preamp, and all technical gear.
