Every source gets a different microphone — a large-diaphragm condenser for vocals, a dynamic for guitar cabs, a tube mic for warmth, a small-diaphragm pair for acoustic detail. Mic selection and placement decide more of the final record than any plugin ever will.
The preamp stage isn't one box — it's a choice between transformer saturation, tube warmth, optical compression, or transparent gain depending on what the source needs. Each path adds its own harmonic character before conversion.
The colored signal is sampled at 48kHz/24-bit, turning a continuous wave into discrete numbers — the last physical step before everything downstream becomes math.
An SSL bus compressor glues the mix together while EQ carves space for every element. Nothing here is corrective — it's sculptural, deciding exactly what the ear notices first.
Calibrated monitors and acoustic treatment mean what you hear here holds up everywhere else — car speakers, earbuds, club systems. Nothing leaves until it translates.
