Matt O'Neil

Matt O'Neil started playing piano at five. His mom taught him. By ten he had picked up guitar, and by fourteen he was playing drums in a punk rock band, doing live shows before he graduated high school. He grew up partly in Germany, surrounded by different cultures and musical traditions that shaped the cross-genre instinct he brings to every session today.

After graduating from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Music Production and Engineering, Matt worked in studios and live sound venues across Boston, New York, and Los Angeles before settling in Houston, TX. He spent the next decade building a career rooted in both technical precision and creative instinct.

Today Matt is a 16x Platinum and 4x Gold certified audio engineer, music producer, and songwriter. His credits include Travis Scott, Swae Lee, Don Toliver, NLE Choppa, NBA YoungBoy, Odetari, and dozens more, totaling 20 billion-plus credited streams worldwide. His Grammy nomination reflects the level he operates at.

Matt founded Lunar Mansion Studios to bring major-label production quality to Houston's independent artist community. The studio runs a professional analog-digital hybrid signal chain, custom GIK acoustic treatments, and a workflow refined across thousands of sessions.

His philosophy is simple: "I don't believe in luck. I believe in energy." Technical decisions serve the emotion of the record, while the artist's vision stays at the center. That musician-first mindset, built on years of playing guitar, bass, drums, piano, and more, is what sets his sessions apart.
